Lyrics: I wrote these lyrics when I had two kids under age three. Neither of whom wanted to sleep through the night. I sang All We Want into the wee hours of the morning and my husband, Ben, occasionally added his own part. Singing this song always reminded me of relations who liked to sing/hum lullabies as they were soothing my younger siblings and cousins. A sense-memory that I forever associate with some of my favorite people!

I recorded the mockingbird in our backyard. He is a very talkative fellow who resides in our neighbor's chimney. I didn't grow up adjacent to a mockingbird, so when we first moved in, I often thought that a new bird had landed in our yard, only to discover that the mockingbird was back at it. I've gotten used to him over time and can finally pick his voice out from those he attempts to mimic...Still: I'm pleasantly surprised, now and again, with a new song.
